Regenerative medicine is a new area of biomedical research which includes, among others, stem cell research and tissue
engineering, i.e. the cultivation of cell groups and tissues. Stem cells become increasingly important in fighting severe
and yet incurable diseases. Stem cells are already used successfully as an integral part of the treatment of severe tumours.
